PHOTO-THERAPHY - Workshop

Photo-Therapy: Photography as a Path to Healing

This workshop explores photography as a powerful tool for self-therapy and emotional healing. Through guided projects, participants will use the camera to process difficult life experiences, navigate past traumas, move beyond periods of stagnation, and gain a deeper understanding of themselves and their personal relationships.

Students will be encouraged to choose their own form of expression—whether through self-portraiture, narrative storytelling, photo-diaries, or documentary approaches. The work may center on personal experiences or support others in sharing and working through their stories. We will also talk about various possibilities of combining photography with text, poetry, or drawings to enrich the visual narratives.

Alongside developing their personal projects, students will also learn how to structure their work in a project format and explore different ways of presenting it publicly—whether through exhibitions, books, installations, or digital platforms.

"Photo-Therapy" is not about technical perfection, but about creating honest, expressive, and transformative work. It is a space for exploration, reflection, and growth—using the art of photography as a means of healing and connection.
